- Your Rights: You have the right to express your thoughts and ideas freely within the bounds of our community guidelines. You have the right to own the content you create. You have the right to engage in a community free from harassment and abuse.
- Your Responsibilities: You have the responsibility to treat other members with respect, even when you disagree. You are responsible for the content you post and for ensuring it is authentic—no impersonation or plagiarism. You also share a responsibility to help keep the nest safe by reporting any content that violates these terms.
2. Community Guidelines: Keeping the Nest Safe
To protect the integrity of our community, we do not permit content or behaviour that is:
- Hateful or Discriminatory: Any content that promotes violence, discrimination, or disparages individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or other protected characteristics is strictly forbidden.
- Harassment or Bullying: We have a zero-tolerance policy for personal attacks, targeted harassment, threats, or any behaviour intended to intimidate or silence another member.
- Illegal or Dangerous: Content that promotes illegal acts, depicts graphic violence, or encourages self-harm is not allowed. Sharing another person’s private information without their consent (doxxing) will result in immediate action.
- Spam or Inauthentic: The creation of spam, chain messages, and deceptive phishing schemes is prohibited.
3. Intellectual Property: Your Thoughts Are Always Yours
This is a core promise of The Thought Nest.
- You Retain Ownership: You retain 100% of the copyright and all intellectual property rights to the original text, images, and other media you create and post on our platform.
- The License You Grant Us: To operate the site, we need your permission to display your work. By posting content, you grant The Thought Nest a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely on our platform. This is what allows other users to read your posts and for us to feature them within the site. You are free to publish your work elsewhere at any time.
4. Moderation and Enforcement: Our Commitment to Fairness
To uphold these terms, we use a combination of community reporting and proactive moderation by our team. If content is found to violate our guidelines, we may take actions including:
- Issuing a warning.
- Removing the specific content.
- Temporarily suspending account privileges.
- Permanently terminating the account in cases of severe or repeat violations.
We are committed to fairness and transparency. If you believe your content or account was actioned in error, we will provide a clear process for you to appeal the decision.
